KIRKLAND LAKE, ON - On March 6, 2022, members of the Kirkland Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a break and enter at a residence in the Town of Kirkland Lake.
As a result of the investigation, a 32-year-old person, from Kirkland Lake, has been arrested and charged with:
- Sexual Assault, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code (CC)
- Break, Enter a Dwelling House, contrary to section 348(1)(a) of the CC
- Failure to Comply with Release Order, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the CC
The OPP will not release names in order to protect the identity of the victim.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
