3 facing drug trafficking charges in Cochrane after seizure of suspected oxycodone

Police seized suspected oxycodone with a suspected street value of $7,300 during the execution a search warrant in Cochrane.

On Jan. 12, 2021, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), and Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Shelby Avenue in the Town of Cochrane. 

A search of the residence led to the seizure of suspected Oxycodone, and a debt list, with an approximate street value of $7,300.

As a result of the investigation three persons were arrested and charged.

Gilbert Tremblay, 47 years old of Cochrane was arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA
  • Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court, contrary to section 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Jan. 13, 2022 in Cochrane.

Jessica Payne, 28 years old of Cochrane, and Jennifer Sackaney, 45 years old of Cochrane were both arrested and charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the purpose of trafficking - opioid (other than heroin), contrary to section 5(2) of the CDSA.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice on Feb. 15, 2022 in Cochrane.
