HEARST, ON - On Sept. 26, 2020, at approximately 4:15 a.m., members of the James Bay Detachments and Cochrane District Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a residence on Highway 11 west of Hearst where a 16-year-old person was found unresponsive and later died at the hospital.
As a result of the death, the James Bay Detachments Crime Unit, under the direction of Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), is investigating. Also assisting is the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OCC-OFPS). A post-mortem examination will take place in the upcoming week.
This investigation is ongoing.
