Andrée (Goulet) Pronovost

1948-2023

The family announces with deep sorrow Andrée’s passing on Sunday, April 2, 2023 surrounded by her loving family by her side. She is survived by her beloved husband Ronald Pronovost, her children Daniel (Linda) Rochon and Sylvie Rochon and her adored grandchildren Jacob, Daniella, Julian, and Lucca. Through the love and devotion between Andrée and Ronald she was also blessed with the love and support of Ronald’s children Marc Pronovost and Nathalie Brush. Andrée was predeceased by her parents Jean-Baptiste and Desanges Goulet, siblings Pierrette (Fernand) Tremblay, Maurice (Bernadette) Goulet and her biological siblings Huguette and Francoise. She is survived by her biological brothers Wayne Houde and Todd Jones, numerous sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces, and nephews from the Rochon, Tremblay and Pronovost families. She cherished many beautiful memories with each and every one of you and may you find comfort in the memories you shared with her.

Andree was born in Timmins on June 11, 1948. She will always be remembered for her love of family and friends, her passion to help others whether it was through her long career as an elementary school teacher with the French Catholic School Board in Timmins, volunteering in her community, church and through missionary work in Cuba and by always being there for family and friends during their times of need. Andrée loved fishing, blueberry picking, travelling, and spending time with loved ones. She had an art for creating the best scrapbooks for her children and grandchildren, writing the perfect message in a greeting card, and picking out the most personal gifts to bless those she loved. She leaves behind a legacy of kindness, generosity, selflessness, and love that she always gave to others and which all of us can only hope to aspire to.

The family wishes to thank the health care providers involved in her care both in the community and at Extendicare York. Two very special Personal Support Workers, Lise Frappier and Louise Goulais deserve a special recognition in the care they gave Andrée at Extendicare. The support and care aways went above and beyond an exemplary standard of care. You both truly love caring for others and the dedication and care you provided always showed it in the special attention you provided Andrée. You will be fondly remembered always!

As per Andrée’s wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a Celebration of Life in Sudbury at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks to please donate to the Alzheimer Society Sudbury Alzheimer Society of Sudbury-Manitoulin North Bay & Districts or Alzheimer Society Timmins-Porcupine Alzheimer Society of Timmins-Porcupine District.
