It is with very heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Normand Mainville (1945-2023) at HSN Sudbury on Friday November 24, 2023 at the age of 77, after a long battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Jo-Anne Mainville (née Dagenais) of 52 years, loving father of Jacques (Jazz), Sylvie (Gilles) and Paul (Natalian). Cherished grandfather of Véronique, Mélina (Caro), Alexia, Owen and Rémi. Also left to mourn are his sisters Joyce Savard, Jackie Wrinn and brother Ralph (Hélène), predeceased by his brother Gilles (Jackie Mainville), parents René and Bertha (née Lavallée) and his beloved poodle, Kandi. Normand touched many lives as a dedicated elementary school principal in Timmins for over 30 years. His good humour, patience, warmth and stories will be missed by old and new friends.
He loved camping and campfires, fishing, dancing with his beautiful soulmate and spending time with his family most of all. In lieu of flowers, remembrance donations can be made directly to the Pregnancy Care and Infant Foodbank https://pccifb.ca/ as this is a charity that meant a lot to him.
A Memorial Mass will be held at Paroisse St-Dominique, 1241 Diane St. Greater Sudbury, on December 11th,2023 at 11 a.m. The family requests that the internment at the cemetery be for immediate family only and there will not be a gathering (or lunch) after the funeral.
