Co-created by youth, the Youth Wellness Hub will be a safe, inclusive and welcoming space for all youth in Timmins aged 12-25 years old to connect with others and access activities, resources and services to support their well-being.

The Youth Wellness Hub will launch on Sept. 29 at O'Gorman High School from 12-9 p.m. Please enter through the back gym entrance.

The public is welcome to attend a ribbon cutting by Mayor Steve Black at 12 p.m. The ribbon cutting signifies the launch of the Youth Wellness Hub.

Going forward, for the remainder of 2018 the hub will operate twice a week in various locations throughout the Timmins area. Stay tuned for the October dates, times, locations, and themes on our Facebook page /YWHTimmins.

If anyone from the public wants to find out more about the Youth Wellness Hub they can tour the space with the youth connectors from 12-12:30 p.m. Following 12:30 p.m. the space is for youth ages 12-25.

Youth of Timmins:

  • Be welcomed by your peers
  • Have access to caring and confidential counselling services, peer mentorship, and other mental health resources
  • Stop by the kitchen to grab a bite to eat and enjoy a hot drink
  • Enter the chill area for a quiet space to do homework, lounge in a comfy chair with a book, or take some time to unwind with art and mindful activities
  • Bring your indoor shoes and stop by the gym for basketball, volleyball and badminton.

Remember, youth of Timmins, this is your space! The Youth Wellness Hub will grow with your continued input. Come experience the Youth Wellness Hub with us on Sept. 29.
