The Timmins Police Service is in the midst of completing its investigation into a two vehicle MVC at the intersection of Airport Road and Westmount Street in the north end of the city.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:46 a.m. and involved a 2016 Kia Sorento SUV and a 2014 Nissan passenger vehicle.
A male youth who was a passenger in the Nissan suffered serious injury and has been transported to an Ottawa area hospital for specialized medical treatment.
The driver of the SUV was brought to Timmins and District Hospital by ambulance for non-life threatening injuries.
Traffic is set to return to normal as the vehicles are being removed by tow truck.
As part of the investigation, both vehicles will be examined by Timmins Police for mechanical defect.
The Timmins Police continues to make a public appeal for any witnesses to come forward and provide needed details to assist in determining the root cause of the collision.
