Hydro work continues today on Pine Street South, between Algonquin Blvd and Third Avenue. Only southbound traffic is flowing. The disruption, which is expected to continue until June 27, is due to a Hydro One project to upgrade an underground vault.

Update (Sunday, April 26th) – Hydro One is in the process of closing the northbound lane on Pine Street South (between Algonquin and Third).

For the next 6 to 8 weeks, motorists will only be allowed to enter Pine Street from Algonquin.

This lane closure is required in order for Hydro One to complete the upgrades to the underground vault located within the block. Once the work is complete, Pine will be re-opened.

We ask motorists and pedestrians to abide to all signage and thank them for their patience.

April 16th – The Public Works Department wishes to advise the Timmins and area Residents that Hydro One will begin construction work on an underground vault located on Pine Street, between Algonquin and Third Avenue starting Monday April 20th, 2015.

Estimated completion of work is mid-June 2015.

Please be advised that vehicle traffic will be restricted on the northbound lane from Third Avenue to approximately the second laneway.

Laneways will remain accessible to the Public. Some portions of sidewalk on the East side of Pine south will be closed off to pedestrian traffic.

Alternatively, pedestrians will be re-directed to use the West side of Pine Street South.
