Schumacher Lions Club with representatives from KidSport and Kidd Operations  announced a special partnership that will provide local youth with an opportunity to hone their hockey skills one-on-one with legendary Toronto Maple Leafs Captain Wendel Clark and former NHL goalie, Paul Harrison.

This hockey clinic, supported by Kidd Operations’ Community Partnership Program, is part of the Schumacher Lions Club’s inaugural Celebrity Gala event known as “Dinner with the Stars” held on Friday, 27 September at the Dante Club.

Dan LaRochelle announced today the partnership.

“This private hockey clinic will be held on the same day of the galaf,” said LaRochelle. “Through our friends at Kidsport, 20 deserving kids will be chosen by the Lions Club to have an opportunity to get some hockey tips on the ice, from our two Toronto Maple Leaf guests.”

LaRochelle said that in order to be eligible to participate, register with Kidsport and meet the criteria. Kids chosen also have to complete an application and provide information to the Lions Club committee. They must also live by the Lions Club moto "We Serve".

This is a unique opportunity for kids to get training that they might not otherwise have received.

Kidd Operations was onboard and excited to be apart of this event.

Carole Belanger, Kidd Operations said “When the Schumacher Lions Club approached us with this project, we thought it was a great opportunity, especially because there was the opportunity to further partner with a great organization like Kidsport.”

All monies raised stay locally says Louis Clausi, Kidsport.

Tickets for the gala will be sold at the Dante Club, Holiday Inn, Northern Sports or if you send an email to [email protected] .
