Water levels rising across the city (8 photos)

The MRCA has issued a flood watch for the Mattagami River

With the melting snow and recent precipitation, water levels across the city are high.

Yesterday, the Mattagami Region Conservation Authority (MRCA) issued a flood watch for the Mattagami River.

"On the Mattagami River system, water elevations are continuing to rise and could reach the critical first stage flood level over the coming days. Residents at this point in time may experience some flooding of low lying areas," reads the notice.

In the east end of town, earlier this week the MRCA flood advisory committee reported that the water levels are rising on the Porcupine River and Porcupine Lake, but said it's difficult to predict the potential of flooding right now.

UPDATE: The afternoon of April 26, the MRCA upgraded its advisories to a flood warning for Porcupine Lake and Mattagami River.
