A person allegedly breaching their release orders gave police a false name this morning.
Timmins Police were interviewing the subject of a complaint on Bruce Avenue in South Porcupine this morning (June 15) when officers allege the person gave them a false name. Through further investigation, police say the person's true identity was determined and there was an arrest warrant for them.
"It was further learned that the subject had provided a false name to the police to avoid being arrested at an earlier call for service," said police in a news release.
Police found a quantity of controlled substances when the suspect was arrested.
A 31-year-old from Timmins is charged with two counts of personation with intent, possession of a controlled substance and failing to comply with a release order.
The accused is in police custody waiting for a bail hearing today.
None of the charges have been tested in court.
