The Timmins Police Service has completed its investigation into an incident that resulted in an arrest of a wanted person.

While completing patrols of the Vipond Road area during the evening hours of Feb. 17, a female operator of a snowmobile was stopped and interviewed by a Timmins Police officer.

As a result of the sobriety-related observations made by the officer, the operator was required to complete breath testing procedures.

Based on the outcome of the breath tests, the operator had her driver’s licence suspended for a 72-hour period.

A cursory check revealed that the person was in fact wanted on the strength of a Criminal Code warrant for Breach of Recognizance.

As a result, Heaven Bertrand, 29, of Timmins was taken into custody and is awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins.
