The Timmins Police Service – Traffic Section is in the midst of completing its investigation into a collision involving a 25-year-old pedestrian.

The collision occurred at approximately 4:10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 8 at the intersection of Toke Street and Seventh Avenue in Timmins.

The Timmins Police Service is thankful to those persons who remained at the scene and came forward with their information in regards to this event to assist officers with their investigation.

The 25-year-old male pedestrian from Timmins was taken to Timmins and District Hospital by ambulance. He was treated for serious but non-life threatening upper body injuries sustained in the collision.

The driver of the vehicle that struck the pedestrian remained at the scene of the collision and provided information to assist with the investigation.

However, the Timmins Police would like to interview a man who stopped to provide first aid to the injured pedestrian as he is likely able to provide valuable details pertaining to this investigation.

The man was driving a pickup truck and his information is deemed to be important to the completion of a thorough investigation.

Traffic in the area was halted for approximately three hours to allow for Timmins Police Service investigators to complete their on-site examination of the collision scene.
