The uniformed group at Timmins police have negotiated a new collective agreement.

At the March police services board meeting, City of Timmins director of corporate services Rock Foy said the deal was reached in February after four days of negotiations.

He explained the general terms to the board.

The new four-year agreement runs from Jan. 1, 2019 to Dec. 31, 2022.

In the first three years, Foy said there is a 1.5 per cent annual increase. Because it's split, the members will receive a .75 per cent raise in January and July. In the final year, the increase is 1.7 per cent, with .85 in January and .85 per cent in July.

"There were benefit enhancements provided to the members in the area of paramedical, vision care and orthodontics, and there’s also minor increases in areas such as shift premium and clothing allowance," Foy said.

The last collective agreement for the uniformed group expired Dec. 31, 2018. Negotiations for the new deal started Feb. 12, and a tentative agreement was reached Feb. 15.

The TImmins Police Association ratified the memorandum of agreement Feb. 21, and the police services board approved it March 27.
