Two wildfires continue to burn in Ontario's Northeast Fire Region:
- Cochrane 8 (COC008) is a 35 hectare fire that is being observed. This fire is located about 57.5 kilometres northwest of Moosonee.
- Cochrane 9 (COC009) is a 6022 hectare fire that is not under control. This fire is located about 3 kilometres east of Parson Lake and 8 kilometres west of the Quebec border. Five crews are committed to this fire.
No new wildland fires have been confirmed Sunday, June 9.
The fire hazard is low across most of the region, with a moderate hazard for areas west and north of Elliot Lake.

There were no new wildland fires confirmed by end of day on Sunday, June 9. There are currently 2 active wildland fires in the Northeast Fire Region.

When waterbombers approach a body of water, move close to the shore so they can perform their scoop safely. A waterbomber will not scoop from a lake or river if encroaching watercraft pose a safety hazard. Be safe, stay clear of waterbombers.
