Two teens die in Highway 11 crash

An early morning crash between a car and a tractor-trailer rig resulted in the death of both the driver and passenger of the car.

ONTARIO PROVINCIAL POLICE

Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision on February 14, 2016 shortly after 6 a.m. 

The collision occurred on Highway 11, Armstrong Township. 

A northbound automobile entered the southbound lane where it was struck by an oncoming tractor trailer. 

A total of three people were involved in the collision. 

The driver of the tractor trailer, 59 year-old male, of Town of Cobalt was not injured. 

The automobile driver, Maxime Beaulac and passenger Daniel Germain, both 19, of Armstrong Township were pronounced dead at the scene. 

The Earlton Fire Department, and the Englehart Ambulance Service attended the scene. 

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI) are assisting with this ongoing investigation. 

Highway 11 was opened at approximately 12:35 p.m.
