Two face charges following Hearst drug bust

HEARST - During the morning of Jan. 19, 2019, members of the North East Region Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at a residence on Prince Street in the Town of Hearst, Ont.

A female and a male were arrested and police seized methamphetamine and Canadian currency with a combined estimated street value of $3,500.

Renee-Pier Fontaine, 29 years old of Hearst, Ont., has been charged with possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA.

Miguel Lachance, 34 years old of Hearst, Ont., has been charged with the following offences:
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - methamphetamine contrary to section 5(2) CDSA, and
    •    Possession of a schedule I substance - cocaine contrary to section 4(1) CDSA.

They are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Hearst, Ont., on Feb. 20, 2019, to answer to the charges.
