Two arrested for shoplifting

The Timmins Police Service has charged a two local women stemming from a shoplifting complaint received yesterday evening. Responding Timmins Police Service officers located two suspects a short distance from downtown grocery store who matched the description given by the store manager.

The pair are alleged to have attended the store and made off with approximately $150 worth of merchandise. Once located by the Timmins Police Service, both suspects are alleged to have been found with goods taken from the store. They were arrested without incident.

As a result of this incident, Pamela Koosees, 35, and Jade Kataquapit, 20, both of Timmins, and have been charged separately with:

  • Theft under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • Possession of property obtained by crime contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

Both of the accused persons remain in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against them.
