Both Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Doug Ford plan to attend the groundbreaking ceremony for IAMGOLD's Côté Gold Project in Gogama this morning.

The event takes place starting at 10:30 a.m., with a joint media availability with Trudeau and Ford scheduled for 12:30 p.m.

The premier’s office said Ford will be joined at the event by Greg Rickford, Minister of Energy, Northern Development and Mines and Minister of Indigenous Affairs, and John Yakabuski, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry.

The event is open to accredited media only.

Ford was also in Greater Sudbury yesterday. He visited the local social service agency Northern Initiative for Social Action (NISA), where he announced the province is providing an additional $14.75 million to increase access to mental health and addictions services in Ontario.
