Weather advisory in effect for:
  • Timmins - Cochrane - Iroquois Falls

Winter weather travel advisory in effect.

Snowfall expected Thursday through Friday afternoon.

Precipitation may begin as light rain tonight before changing to snow Thursday morning as Arctic air floods into the region and temperatures begin to fall. Total snowfall amounts of 10 to 20 cm are expected by the time snow tapers off Friday afternoon.

Temperatures will dip considerably below freezing late in the day Thursday and Thursday night which may lead to icy road conditions. As a result, travel will become hazardous.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Take extra care when walking or driving in affected areas. Slow down driving in slippery conditions. Watch for taillights ahead and maintain a safe following distance. Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become icy and slippery.
