The Timmins Horticultural Society will be selling hardy and reliable perennials, homemade preserves and baking. Free gardening information is also available. All are welcome.

Touch a Truck

Saturday, Sept. 15, 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Timmins Public Library

This free event is helping promote literacy. Explore the big trucks on display, enjoy a barbecue lunch, read to a therapy dog, and more. It’s all taking place on Second Avenue in front of the main library branch.

Car and Doggy Wash

Saturday, Sept. 15, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Kia of Timmins, 1285 Riverside Dr.

It’s time for the Timmins and District Humane Society’s annual doggy/car wash and barbecue fundraiser. It’s $10 per car, $15 for a small dog and $20 for a large dog. All the proceeds are for animals in the community.

Tickets for the Celtic punk act are $10 and you have to be 19 years or over to attend.

Terry Fox Run

Sunday, Sept. 16

Gillies Lake

Help keep Terry Fox’s legacy alive by participating in the annual run. There is a fun run starting at noon for more serious runners, with walkers taking to the trails at 1 p.m.
