Timmins woman accused of carrying edged weapon

She was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local woman stemming from an investigation where a complaint had been received on Saturday, Nov. 17 into threatening behaviour allegedly undertaken by the woman.

The suspect was located by a Timmins Police Service officer later that same day in South Porcupine.

The suspect was arrested and taken into custody where, in the course of a search incident to arrest, was found to be in possession of an edged weapon.

As a result, Sarah Eliot, 36, of Timmins has been charged with:
    •    possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused remains in police custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charge laid against her.
