Nov. 15 original story:

Papakomeka Road is temporarily closed for emergency culvert repairs.

According to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry (MNRF), the road was closed last night (Nov. 14). The closure could last up to five days.

Papakomeka Road is located south of Pine Street in the area of Bartlett Township at the 35-kilometre marker.

The MNRF says there are two potential alternative routes, which may be unmarked, available for drivers: Telluride Road, west of Papakomeka Road, or Matachewan Road to Forks River Road and Stringers Road, which will bring you to South Porcupine.

“Use of these alternate routes are at your own risk and if you do please use caution as there are active forest operations in the area and you may encounter haul trucks,” wrote the MNRF in a news release.
