A Timmins resident is among two people facing charges after weapons and $6,500 of drugs were seized in Cobalt.
The incident started as a traffic complaint on Baker Street in Cobalt on March 22 around 5 p.m.
Temiskaming OPP said two people were located in a vehicle. Police allege the driver had consumed "suspected controlled substances" and was brought to the detachment for further testing.
In the investigation, police seized weapons and over $6,500 of suspected fentanyl and cocaine.
The driver, a 35-year-old from Temiskaming Shores, is charged with operation while impaired - alcohol and drug, possession of an opioid for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with a release order.
Their license was also suspended for 90 days and their vehicle was impounded for seven days.
A 30-year-old from Timmins is charged with possession of an opioid for the purpose of trafficking, possession of cocaine, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Both of the accused were held in police custody waiting for a bail hearing today (March 24) in Temiskaming Shores.
