TIMMINS POLICE SERVICE

After years of selfless dedication to the Timmins Police Service, two fiercely dedicated auxiliary officers have tendered their respective letters of intent to withdraw from the unit that they have served with for a number of years.
Georges Jasmin, who has been a member of the Timmins Police Service – Auxiliary Unit since its inception on May 17, 2005, is retiring from public service in his capacity as auxiliary officer.
Georges has been a tireless volunteer who has logged countless hours in all sort of Timmins Police affiliated public functions including security details at public events, parades and a huge variety of other occasions.
Georges’ dedication serves as an example for others to follow as he has been a reliable resource person no matter the nature of the call or the time of day that he has been deployed for service.
In addition, Leanna Bouffard, a stalwart fixture in community service, is also calling it a day as other duties are calling her to devote her energies in another worthwhile venture.
Leanna was visibly emotional upon receiving her plaque from Chief John Gauthier this morning. She knows it is time for her to leave the unit so that others can take up the duties that she loved performing.
She is quick to point out that this kind of public service is a calling and not just something you do to pass the time. She too was an exemplary member of the unit and her absence and accountability will be missed.
The Timmins Police Service bids these fine citizens and volunteers a fond farewell and continued success in whatever they devote their time and energy towards.
Their service to their community will not be forgotten.
