Representing the Timmins as part of the eastern Ontario contingent of Special Olympians, Ashley Keizer, 42 of South Porcupine, came home with three medals to mark his most recent accomplishments.
Ashley Keizer was a fierce competitor in three areas of downhill skiing at last week's Provincial Special Olympics events hosted in Sault Ste. Marie.
Ashley took to the podium in each of his events: the Giant Slalom, the Super Slalom and the G.S. (a hybrid of the Super and giant slalom competitions).
He returns home with a gold, a silver, and a bronze medal for his efforts. He proudly displays his hardware at the Timmins Police station where he is employed as a courier for the Timmins Police Service.
Timmins Police Chief John Gauthier and Deputy Chief Henry Dacosta were on hand for the opening ceremonies and cheered on Ashley to motivate him to downhill skiing supremacy.
The Timmins Police Service takes great pride in acknowledging Ashley's recent accomplishments in the intermediate level of competition as a Special Olympian and also as a valued and dedicated employee.
Please take a moment to congratulate Ashley when you see him next on his recent victories and wish him well as he pursues future downhill glory at upcoming National Competitions in Thunder Bay.
