Timmins Police lay several charges following Fentanyl trafficking investigation

The Timmins Police Service has laid several charges after the investigation of a Timmins man into Fentanyl trafficking. On October 1, 2013, officers from the Timmins Police Service’s Drug Unit obtained a warrant to search a South Porcupine residence.

On October 1, 2013, officers from the Timmins Police Service’s Drug Unit obtained a warrant to search a South Porcupine residence. Upon executing the search warrant, officers discovered over 15 grams of cocaine, 14 Fentanyl patches, $4720 in Canadian currency and three firearms with ammunition. The potential street value of the drugs seized is $7870. Police also seized multiple gold-bearing rocks and a container of crushed rock with visible gold flakes.

Upon further investigation, it was determined that the rocks were taken over the years from various gold mines where the subject has worked.

Adam MALLAIS, 49, is charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the purpose of trafficking, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and Possession of Valuable Minerals.

Mallais was released on a recognizance before an officer in charge.
