Timmins Police has a new cadet

Aug. 26 marked the first day for Cadet Joseph Depatie with the Timmins Police Service. Joseph is completing his intensive orientation training under the watchful eye of Sgt. Marty Delich.

This training will serve him well in preparation for his attendance at the Ontario Police College set to commence on Sept. 5 and running through to end of November.

Joe is a bilingual 23-year-old resident of South Porcupine who is a graduate of Ecole Secondaire Catholique Theriault.

He pursued and successfully completed post-secondary education in the Pre-Fire Program at Northern College and the Law and Justice program at Cambrian College in Sudbury.

Joe is a former MNRF fire crew chief who also served as a volunteer with the Whitney Volunteer Fire Hall and the local MADD chapter (Timmins).

Joe is eager to learn from his colleagues and will readily accept any guidance provided to him by experienced police officers with the Timmins Police Service so that he becomes proficient in serving the law enforcement needs of his community.

Joseph Depatie successfully completed an intensive hiring process in order to meet the standards of employment set by the Timmins Police Service.

He aspires to contribute to the law enforcement priorities set by his supervisors in keeping with the Timmins Police mission statement.
