Timmins man facing mischief, weapons charges

The Timmins Police Service responded to a call for service in regards to a dispute at a residential complex in the south end of the city during the early evening hours of Wednesday Aug. 15. Upon arrival at the scene, Timmins Police officers investigated the matter and inspected damage to a parked vehicle.

In the course of the investigation, a male person of interest was identified to the Timmins Police officers on scene. A thorough investigation was completed by the officers in regards to the mischief. As well, a prohibited device as defined under the Criminal Code was retrieved in the course of the investigation.

Ghislain St-Pierre, 57 of Timmins, has been arrested and charged with:

  • Two counts of mischief under $5,000 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of possession of a prohibited device contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • One count of uttering threats contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was released from police custody on the strength of a promise to appear requiring that he attend Provincial Court in Timmins on Sept. 11 to answer to the charges laid against him.
