Timmins man charged in pedestrian collision

The Timmins Police Service has charged a local man with a Highway Traffic Act offence stemming from a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian which occurred during the early evening hours of Friday, April 12.

The motor vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Pine Street South and Kimberly Avenue. Responding Timmins Police Service officers rendered immediate first aid and secured the scene of the collision. A 60-year-old female pedestrian was injured as she was crossing Kimberly Avenue and was struck by the driver of a Dodge minivan. The driver of the minivan was completing a left hand turn off of Pine Street South to proceed west on Kimberly Avenue when the collision occurred.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old Timmins man has been charged with careless driving contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. Traffic in the area was diverted for a period of three hours to allow for the investigation to be completed.
