The maternal child program in Timmins has received a $10,000 boost.

The Co-operators — S. Vermette Insurance and Financial Ltd. of Timmins had the Co-operators Foundation — recently donated the money to the Timmins and District Hospital Foundation for the maternal child program.

"This meaningful gift supports our ability to deliver essential healthcare now and well into the future. This help will optimize the care of infants and women who rely on the services that Timmins and District Hospital provides," said Alex Langevin, program manager, in a news release.

As a community partner, Sebastien Vermette said that he tries to give back as much as possible.

"Both myself and some of my staff have had to use the program with our children, so it is close to our hearts," he said.
