Thousands of people in Ontario rely on food banks every month. Students and teachers at Timmins High and Vocational School will be going door-to-door throughout Mountjoy, Melrose and most of the City’s North end for their 18th annual “Food for Friends” food drive.

It all happens on Thursday, Apr. 13 between 9 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

We need your help! Residents are strongly encouraged to leave non-perishable food items outside their door if they are not going to be at home. Alternatively, residents can bring food directly to the school.

Last year Timmins High collected over 5077 pounds of food for the Timmins Food Bank and the First Baptist Food Bank.

Thanks to Leuschen Transportation, who has generously donated the use of eight school buses, and Lloyd Richards for the use of a moving truck.
