To honor and give thanks to the Aboriginal people across Canada, Timmins Ontario will be celebrating National Aboriginal Day on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Also known as Summer Solstice which marks the celebration of a new season, Canadians will be celebrating the cultures and contributions of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. This celebration is intended to widely recognize the history of Aboriginal peoples and their vital place within Canada and in the community of Timmins.
