Three arrrest warrants, three Timmins residents charged

All three await bail hearings

The Timmins Police Service executed arrest warrants in separate incidents Jan. 8, 2019 stemming from separate incidents. A female resident is alleged to have failed to attend Provincial Court as required in answer to charges of theft and possession of goods obtained by crime dating back to Dec. of 2018. A Timmins Police Service officer completing foot patrol of the downtown area recognized the suspect as a wanted person.

Upon interviewing the person and confirming the existence of a valid arrest warrant, the female suspect was taken into police custody. As a result of the incident, Lea Korpan, 24, of Timmins, has been arrested and charged with:

  • Fail to attend court contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins in order to answer to the charge laid against her.

In a separate incident, a Timmins Police Service officer completing routine patrols of his assigned patrol zone recognized a person as being a wanted person. Upon interviewing the person to confirm their identity, the validity of an existing arrest warrant was confirmed. The male suspect was taken into police custody.

As a result of the incident, Christopher Croker, 34, of Timmins, has been arrested on the strength of the warrants and held in custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins in order to answer to the charge laid against him.

In a third incident, a male resident was located by the Timmins Police as they responded to an early morning call of a disturbance involving an unwanted guest at a residence in Timmins. Upon arrival at the scene, a Timmins Police Service officer recognized the unwanted occupant as a potentially wanted person. Upon interviewing the person and confirming the existence of a valid arrest warrant, the male suspect was taken into police custody.

As a result of the incident, Angus Wynne, 41, of Timmins, was arrested on the strength of arrest warrants for:

  • two counts of fail to attend court contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada
  • three counts of fail to comply with probation order contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada

The accused was held in custody awaiting a bail hearing slated for this morning at Provincial Court in Timmins in order to answer to the charge laid against him.
