HEARST – For several months, the James Bay Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has been investigating occurrences of criminal harassment.

Numerous people in the Town of Hearst have received letters that were threatening in nature.

Police investigation led to Gilles Damphousse, 58, of Hearst, Ontario being arrested and charged with seven counts of criminal harassment – threatening conduct, contrary to section 264(2)(d) of the Criminal Code of Canada (CC).

He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in the Town of Hearst on April 27, 2016 at 10 a.m. to answer to the charges.
