Timmins Public Library is pleased to announce that over 3,000 popular magazines are now available to download and read on any device 24/7. Users with a library card can read eMagazines alongside eBooks and eAudiobooks on Libby, the award-winning reading app from Overdrive, or by visiting the library’s OverDrive website. This platform replaces the previous  digital magazine service which was offered by RBdigital.

As people increasingly read and listen to material on their smartphone or tablet, they’re discovering one of the best resources is their local public library.

“We are so very excited to add eMagazines to our existing OverDrive service. The best part is the wide variety of titles on countless topics available in multiple languages,” said CEO Carole-Ann Demers.

Magazines in the collection include: Cosmopolitan, Bloomberg Businessweek, OK!, HGTV, Car  and Driver, Taste of Home, Country Living, Popular Science, Food Network, Star, Reader’s Digest,  Newsweek, Les idées de ma maison, La semaine, Golf magazine and many more.

eMagazines have no waitlists or holds, do not count towards checkout limits and provide readers the option to renew their selections. Readers can browse lists of magazines within the  app and search by format to find available titles and download magazines for offline use.

Named one of Popular Mechanics’ 20 Best Apps of the Decade, Libby seamlessly connects first time users and experienced readers with Timmins Public Library’s digital collection. The collection offers eBooks, eAudiobooks and eMagazines including bestsellers and new releases.  Readers of all ages can select from virtually every subject ranging from mystery, romance,  children’s, business and more.

Readers may browse Timmins Public Library’s digital collection, instantly borrow titles and start reading or listening for free with a valid library card. This service is compatible with all major computers and devices, iPhone, iPad, Android phones and tablets and Chromebook. All titles will automatically expire at the end of the lending period and there are no late fees.

To get started enjoying eMagazines, eBooks and eAudiobooks, download the Libby App by  OverDrive or visit the library’s OverDrive website. All you need is your library card and PIN.
