IROQUOIS FALLS – There will be quite the elections in Iroquois Falls this October.
There will be three people running for mayor, and 15 people vying for six councillor position.
Running for mayor are Pat Britton, Ken Graham, and incumbent councillor Micheal Shea.
Incumbent mayor Gilles Forget is not seeking re-election.
Running for the six councillor positions are incumbents Tory Delaurier, Gilbert (Jack) Fournier and Terry Boucher.
Newcomers in the race are Douglas Beagan, Norm Boisvert, Jacinthe (Joss) Bourgoin, Stephanie Giguere, Marguerite (Daudine) Grenier, Pete Jones, Colin Kennedy, Jeff Madden, Doug Palmer, Betty Lou Purdon, J.C. (Sam) Saumure and Claude Tremblay.
Incumbent councillor Yves Carriere did not file his nomination papers.
For the race for school board trustees, there is one person nominated for each of the school boards meaning they will all be acclaimed.
The candidate for Conseil scolaire public du nord-est de l’Ontario is Clara Tremblay McKinnon.
The candidate for District school board Ontario north east is Saunders Porter, and the lone candidate for Northeastern catholic district school board is Elizabeth King.
The election is October 27.
