From DockDogs to a petting zoo and traditional exhibits, there's something for everyone at this weekend's Fall Fair.

Ahead of the annual event, Mayor George Pirie has proclaimed Sept. 7 and 8 as Timmins Fall Fair Days.

All the action is at the Mountjoy Arena.

“This year our main attraction is the DockDogs. It’s a group from Toronto that’s coming in with their swimming pool, their dock and their dogs and they’re going to be putting on a great show throughout the weekend,” said Rock Whissell, Porcupine District Agricultural Society president.

He said local residents can bring their dogs by on Saturday to try the diving board and swimming pool.

"Sunday morning we have a competition for locals also. So we have professionals coming in, but we also have the local people try the dock dog competition,” he said.

One of the biggest draws, the petting zoo, will be set up once again. Throughout the weekend, people can also enjoy the horse show, Pads K-9 demonstration, pony rides, and more.

For the Fall Fair weekend, the Mountjoy Farmers' Market will be back at the arena as well, with more than 30 vendors expected to set up.

There are some changes to activies this year.

“Our arena this year is going to be changed, we’re going to be having more games, more activities for the children inside the arena. We’ve removed the stage from the arena so we will not have any live music in the arena, we’re trying to concentrate on education and the family fun of it,” he said.

Saturday night's entertainment will be outside under a tent, which Whissell said is heated.

Local act Claude and Simon are on stage at 8:30 p.m., with up-and-coming country singer Manny Blu playing at 10 p.m.

Daily admission to the fair is $10 per person. Children ages three to 12 years are $5, and children two and under are free.
