KIRKLAND LAKE – Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a man with several criminal offences.

The charges stem from an investigation where a person forcibly entered a shed located on Government Road West in Kirkland Lake and a vehicle on Woods Street.

Once entry was gained into the shed the suspect stole an ice auger, fishing equipment and a propane light.

The same suspect also stole a firearm from a vehicle on Woods Street in Kirkland Lake.

Charged is Elwood Junior WREGGITT, age 43 of Kirkland Lake, with Break, Enter and Theft, Trafficking in Stolen Property, Theft Under $5000, Possession of Stolen Property, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited, Possession of a Firearm Contrary to a Prohibition Order, Break, Enter and Theft from a Motor Vehicle and Trafficking in Firearms.

The incidents occurred between October 11 and October 25, 2015.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on December 23, 2015.
