Speaker Series to explore healthy eating for seniors, new food guide

On May 14, at 9:30 a.m., St. Mary’s Gardens Seniors Speakers Series will explore Healthy Eating for Seniors.

“With the changes to Canada’s Food Guide, it’s a good time to remind seniors about healthy eating,” said Micheline Boutin, Administrator at St. Mary’s Gardens.

Guylaine Malette-Robichaud, Public Health Nurse from the Porcupine Health Unit, will speak about the importance of eating properly. She'll discuss foods that will keep you healthy and reduce your risks of falls. And, she'll review the key messages from the new Canada's Food Guide.

Seniors, family members and caregivers are invited to attend. Admission is free. Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Seating is limited. People wishing to attend can RSVP to Dawna Carrier, St. Mary’s Gardens Community Relations Coordinator, at [email protected] or (705) 267-5000, ext. 8006.

St. Mary’s Gardens is located on Pine Street North across from the 101 Mall.

St. Mary’s Gardens Speakers Series features different speakers every month, covering a variety of topics from finance and estate planning to fraud prevention and health.
