The splash pad in South Porcupine will be closed for a couple of days this week.
The splash pad area and the short trail from it to the gazebo will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 8 a.m. to Friday, Aug. 10 at noon.
"The temporary closure is required in order to apply an organic, vinegar-based spray to the vegetation growing between the paving stones in the Splash Pad and the short walkway," reads a notice from the city.
"When wet, this vegetation creates a slippery surface and is a slip and fall hazard. As a precaution, the area will be barricaded and the power to the splash pad will be turned off."
