TEMAGAMI, ON - Members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are presently investigating a single fatal motor vehicle collision involving a Hyundai Sonata which occurred at approximately 12:03 p.m. on August 12, 2014.
The collision occurred on Highway 11, in Strathcona Township.
The vehicle was southbound on highway 11, crossed into the northbound lane and struck a rock cut.
The Fire Department and Ambulance attended the scene. The driver, Lillian Selman, 80 years, of Sudbury was assisted out of the vehicle and escorted to the Temiskaming Hospital where she has been pronounced dead.
There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with this collision.
Highway #11 has been re-opened in both directions as the investigation into the collision continues.
