NEWS RELEASE
LEADERSHIP TRAINING NETWORK
*************************
The Leadership Training Network is pleased to announce Safety and Action - presented by Kelly Voyer, an Independent Consultant with Safety in Action Consulting Services Inc.

The Leadership Training Network (LTN) exists to address the need for leadership training opportunities throughout Northeastern Ontario and is a collaboration of Cochrane District Social Planning Council and various community partners.

LTN offers training in board governance, social media, proposal writing, effective communication in not-for-profits and more. “There has been a high demand for health and safety training in the non-profit sector,” said KayLee Morissette, regional coordinator, with Cochrane District Social Planning Council.

The requirement to have the right programs, policies, and training in place for any organization is an essential part of the Internal Responsibility System (IRS). It is the foundation of any effective and functional health and safety program.

Having up-to-date health and safety policies and reviewing them annually is not only a legal requirement, but it will also serve as a reminder of an organization’s procedures and shows employees that their health and well-being matter.

Preventing work-related illness and injury is the most important job at any workplace, and understanding the legislation is an important step. Safety in Action will cover the health and safety legislation, how non-profit organizations are impacted, and what an organization should be do internally to ensure compliance with the act.

Topics covered during Safety in Action include: workplace violence, WHMIS, policies, the safety board, mandatory posting requirements, and the safety committee.

If you are interested in learning more about health and safety within your organization, join Kelly Voyer on Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018 from 1 to 4 p.m. at 330 Second Ave. (library building) in the McMillan boardroom, which is located on the second floor.

Tickets for this presentation are $35 plus convenience fee, and may be purchased by following the link or emailing [email protected].
