Charlie Angus, MP Timmins-James Bay and Gilles Bisson, MPP Timmins will be hosting their second annual Community BBQ at the Gillies Lake Soccer Field this Thursday, with this year’s theme being First Responders Appreciation.

First Responder teams will be at the event with their emergency service vehicles on display. An inflatable slide and play structure will also be available for children to enjoy.

Bisson and Angus gave credit to Paul Boutin from Timmins Home Improvement Centre for this year’s theme.

“Paul approached our office about having a community event to thank our first responders for everything they do, so we thought it was very fitting to pair it with our Community BBQ” said Bisson.

“It’s an opportunity for our community to come together to show our appreciation to first responders and have some family fun. Everyone is welcome to come” said Angus.

The event is open to the public from 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 22, while supplies last.
