Get ready for a rockin’ good time this weekend.

To kick off the Timmins Rock Junior A hockey club’s season, today has been proclaimed Rock Day in the city.

For their home opener tomorrow (Saturday, Sept. 8), the team is throwing a tailgate party starting at 3 p.m. at the McIntyre Arena.

There will be kids’ bouncy castles, street hockey games, a nine-hole mini putt course, dunk tank, food truck, and music from Patrick Lauzon, Rosedale and Kyle Cote.

On the ice, the Rock will be facing the French River Rapids. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, the team is back in action at the Mac for a game against the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners at 7 p.m.
