Restaurant serves free meal for the needy (5 photos)

The buffet-style meal had three sittings

The doors to Foster Jane were opened one last time for a special event.

July 17, owner Mike Yorke and the staff cooked up a diverse buffet for Charlotte's Table, a free meal for the needy in Timmins.

The buffet-style dinner featured three sittings, with the menu including roast beef, pizza, fish, pasta with meat sauce, chicken cacciatore, vegetables, dessert, and more.

The guest list was created by working with Living Space, Project Love and the Good Samaritan Inn, and 150 people enjoyed the meal.

To make sure people were dressed for the occasion, leading up to the event Living Space collected donations of men's and women's dress clothes.

While Foster Jane closed its doors to the public June 30, when Yorke and his staff were planning for their last few parties, they noticed there would still be food left over. Instead of donating the food, they decided to cook up something special for the community.
