Rain no match for summer series spirit (11 photos)

Once again, series draws no shortage of local talent

In the early hours of last Thursday evening, a light rain came down relentlessly.

That did not, however, dampen the spirits of the brave crowd who huddled to stay dry.

Despite the less than ideal weather, a great show took place. It was part of the Timmins Summer Concert Series, held at Bannerman Park in Porcupine.

The first performer, Joanne Marie, belted out in her familiar raspy voice rain-themed songs, as well as others by Amanda Marshall, Fleetwood Mac, and Adele just to name a few.

Up next was Yvan Nadeau, country artist, who alongside his granddaughter Brianna equally engaged the spectators.

There was no shortage of local talent once again that night. As per usual, the Porcupine Art Club painted on quietly in the background.
