Power's out for thousands in Timmins (restored)

Hydro One says the cause is a pole fire

A power outage is affecting thousands of Hydro One customers in Timmins. 

The outage started around 9 a.m. today (April 4) and so far is affecting 2,065 customers, according to Hydro One's outage notice. It's impacting the downtown core, which means that some traffic lights are out.

According to the outage map, is affecting a swath from Moneta Avenue to north of Ross Avenue. In the east it starts around Highway 655 and extends west to Birch Street.

The outage is under investigation and the cause is listed as a pole fire. 

The estimated time for the hydro to be back on is 12:15 p.m.
