Police want to interview transport driver involved in pedestrian collision

The Timmins Police Service in the midst of completing its investigation into a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Sometime between 9:50 a.m. and 10 a.m. a tractor trailer unit struck a pedestrian at the intersection of Hwy 655 and Algonquin Boulevard.

The Timmins Police Service is seeking to identify the driver of the tractor trailer unit involved in this collision.

The truck driver did stop but left the scene as the pedestrian who had been struck indicated he was not in need of assistance.

The pedestrian has since been transported to Timmins and District Hospital for treatment for a head injury, the severity of which has yet to be determined.

Anyone who can identify the driver or the vehicle involved in this collision is asked to call the Traffic Section of the Timmins Police Service at 705-264-1201.

Accordingly, the driver of the tractor trailer unit is asked to attend the Timmins Police Service headquarters at 185 Spruce Street South to complete an interview in relation to the collision.
