Timmins Police investigate sudden death occurrence
The Timmins Police Service is currently investigating an incident involving a deceased person.
Timmins Police officers responded to a Ross Avenue address yesterday afternoon to check on the wellbeing of a resident.
Upon entry, the body of a deceased person was located.
Timmins Police Forensics and Identification Unit officers were called to the scene in keeping with standard investigative protocols. Additionally, the local coroner was called to the scene in keeping with standard practices in cases involving death.
A 56-year-old male resident of Timmins was pronounced as deceased by the coroner.
Next of kin notifications have been addressed by the Timmins Police Service.
The scene has been released and is no longer under the control of the Timmins Police Service.
Timmins Police are awaiting the outcome of a post-mortem examination but do not believe foul play was involved at this point and that no threat to public safety exists.
